STUDY IN POLAND

The university is accredited to offer 45 full time and part time programmes,including unique programmes such as the following:Biophysics,Econophysics,Geophysics,
and Medical Physics.The programmes offer a total of 130 specialisations,including pharmaceutical chemistry,Data Analyst,Geophysics,Nanophysics and Mesoscopic Materials.The university of Silesia regularly upgrades its didactic offer by launching new programmes which reflect the needs of the labour market.When planning new programmes it also takes into account guidelines concerning programmes which are regarded as being of special value to the economy,including those which are granted the status of specialties ordered by the Ministry of science and Higher education.As a result,the university offer includes more and more engineering degree programmes.

The universitys didactic offer comprises many attracitve programmes which may be unavailable elsewhere.These are cultural studies,History of art,family ststudies and many art related programmes.Our programmes in Film and Television Directing,Film and Television production,and cinematography,directing and art photography,organised by the Faculty of Radio and Television,continue to be very popular among candidates.The universitys offer is also made attractive by new specialisations launched as part of already  existing programmes,and new linguistics and translation programmes in the field of modern language studies.

The University of Silesia also offers numerous doctoral degree programmes which allow students to deepen their knowledge of various disciplines and provide them with opportunities to conduct interesting and innovative research projects.

English studies:

Students are trained by two cooperating institutes: the Institute of English and the Institute of English Cultures and Literatures.Graduates of the translation programmes have excellent linguistic skills,including a command of Arabic,chinese as well as specialized varieties of English.The culture and Literature of English speaking countries and culture media translation programmes offer,alongside core courses such as the theory and history of literature and practical english,courses in film,media and gender studies as well as more practically oriented courses in creative writing and translation of literary texts.
