STUDY IN SCOTLAND

This new national body is responsible for supporting quality and improvement in learning and teaching from early years to adult and community learning


Education Scotland has a key role to play in scottish education,supporting innovation and dynamism throughout the education system,providing challenge and making a major contribution to raising standards overall.


Education scotland brings together the work of learning and Teaching scotland,Her Majestys Inspectorate of Education and some functions currently carried out by scottish Government.

Until the creation of the new agency,Learning and Teaching Scotland was the body responsible for reviewing the curriculum developing assessment to support learning and providing national guidance on the use of to support learning and teaching.

In the short term,information on most aspects of support for curriculum areas,learning across the curriculum,assessment,approaches to learining and partnership working will continue to be found on the Learning and Teaching Scotland online service.

Curriculum for Excellence aims to achieve a transformation in education in Scotland by providing a coherent,more flexible and enriched curriculum from 3 to 18.The curriculum includes the totality of experiences which are planned for children and young people through their education wherever they are being educated.
